Reverse: Amphora with fluted body, conical foot and handles from middle of neck to shoulders. Mesh1 191. H-704. Mild 18 [13 examples cited]. Holed at near 12 o'clock. Fine to Very Fine.

While perforated denars are occasionally seen, this rare large bronze denomination is unrecorded as a holed, ex ancient-jewelry piece. The Mildenberg reverse dies 4 and 12 are amongst the most beautiful and charismatic of all Bar Kochba coinage.
