Snuff Box, 1861. American, silver and walnut, 2 7/8 inches in length, and 2 1/8 inches wide. Silver plates on top and bottom. On top, the sliding piece over the opening has a wreath with clasped hands within, above a torch; the stationary plate has "James Cervin" at top edge and "Novbr. 26th, 1861." Likely in memory of a loved one, fallen in the Civil War. Very handsome.
