1845 N-7 R5 Repunched 84. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Attractive glossy chocolate and light olive brown with traces of mint red remaining on the obverse, 15% of the original red showing on the reverse. Outstanding eye appeal with virtually flawless surfaces. Just a light touch of friction on the highest points of the design from mint state. EDS, die state a, the reverse as yet uncracked through MER. The repunching on the 8 & 4 is sharp. Called AU55 and CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #31208. Our grade is AU55, CC#2 in the Grellman census behind a marginally finer example. And it comes with a great provenance. PCGS population 1; the only example graded at PCGS for the variety. DWH #3570 (PCGS # 397758) .
