Lot 98

1802/0 C-2 R3 Overdate 2 over 0, Reverse of 1803 G6. Glossy steel and chocolate. Smooth with only a few marks. These include some very faint hairlines on the portrait and a beveled edge off the bust tip (which may be from a cut-down large cent planchet). MDS, Manley state 3.0. The curl left of the date is open and there is obvious die rust (tiny lumps) around the date. Possibly struck over a cut-down spoiled large cent indicated by a depression in the field near the rim before the face. The date and overdate are bold and the legends are complete.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
Ex Ray Senchuck 4/6/1990.
