Lot 93

1800 C-1 R2 VF35. Slightly sharper with some very faint hairline scratches and tiny rim nicks on both sides. A thin diagonal scratch from the A in HALF to the N in CENT and a tiny rim nick at I in UNITED are the notable marks. Frosty steel and olive brown blending to lighter chocolate in some of the protected areas. MDS, Manley state 3.0. The curl left of the date is still closed and there is a rim cud over LIB. Struck on a planchet that did not have the rims upset (Breen stage I) causing the rims to be wider than normal (sometimes called a broadstrike error, which this is not).
Estimated Value $400-UP.
Ex Bowers & Merena 11/10/1987:3054.
