Lot 908

1807 S-275 R3 Large Fraction. PCGS graded AU-58. Very attractive frosty chocolate brown with lustrous lighter steel brown faded down from mint color in protected areas on both sides. A faint swipe of lighter reddish brown toning covers the front of the face and extends slightly into the field from the eye down to the chin. The only notable mark is a tiny scratch along the dentil tips over the Y in LIBERTY. This cent offers excellent eye appeal. MDS, Breen state II. The fields on the reverse display hints of prooflike reflectivity thanks to a fresh die polishing that left microscopic nearly vertical lapping lines in those fields, clearest inside the wreath. Our grade is EF45, tied for CC#2. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
Estimated Value $5,000-UP.

Realized $10,350
