Lot 9

1794 C-1a R3 Large Edge Letters G5. Sharpness VG10 but there are myriad old pinscratches at the date that weaken the digits. The surfaces are covered with very fine roughness under a rather glossy patina of dark olive and steel with lighter steel brown and chocolate toning on the devices. No verdigris. A small planchet fissure or void at the rim over E in LIBERTY is the only other mark of any significance. The date is weak but still readable while the legends are clear. The edge lettering TWO HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR is clear as well.
Estimated Value $800-UP.
Ex Frank Shaskan (bourse dealer) 5/21/1972.
