1798 S-146 R5- Style I Hair with Large 8 F12. Sharpness VF25 or slightly better but there are a half dozen parallel scratches on the obverse, clearest in the field before the chin and neck. The planchet is mostly smooth but there is a patch of corrosion and verdigris at ERT in LIBERTY. The field behind the portrait is covered with microscopic porosity while the remainder of the planchet is reasonably smooth. Glossy dark chocolate and steel. The date and legends are bold. EDS, before any traces of die rust. Struck very slightly off center to K-3.5.
