Lot 82

1846 N-15 R4 Small Date VF35. Glossy olive brown and chocolate. The planchet is mostly smooth but there is a trace of microscopic roughness in the field before the face and a bit more on the rims. Otherwise this cent would rate a higher grade. No verdigris, and the only contact mark of any significance is a light rim bruise at the bottom of the reverse. E-MDS, die state b. The die crack through the top of UNITE is clear and a radial crack reaches up into the dentils from the top of that U. Estimated Value $200-UP

Ex Chris McCawley 4/25/2003-Fred Iskra Collection (includes a collection envelope that appears to be from the Willard C. Blaisdell collection).

Realized $259
