1797 C-2 R3 AG3. Double Struck over TAL Cent. Several points sharper but fine porosity covers the left side of the reverse while the remainder of the planchet is relatively smooth. The obverse is considerably sharper than the reverse. No verdigris or notable marks. Slightly glossy bluish steel and olive, most likely recolored. Double struck with an offset of 1-2 millimeters between the impressions. The doubling is obvious on the obverse but not on the reverse. Traces of the TAL Cent undertype can be found on both sides. Weight 73.7 grains.
