The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, June 10, 1854. Edited and published by S.W. Richards in London, printed in Liverpool, paginated 355-368. The issue is devoted to the "Death of President Willard Richards," taken from the Deseret News. Each page has a black mourning border. Richards (1804-1859) served as Joseph Smith's private secretary and as LDS historian, he was responsible for keeeping Smith's diary. In 1847 he became second counselor to Brigham Young. He organized the provisional government of the State of Deseret and was appointed the territorial secretary. In 1850 he was appointed founding editor of the Deseret News. Excellent condition.
