Jameson, Susan (British, b. 1944). Night II. Mezzotint in colors. A dark and serene moon rise above coastline hills evoke memories of Scottish loch country, or Scandinavian fjords. Signed lower right; edition no. 16 / 200; image size: 9-1/4" x 12-1/2", on oversize sheet.

Born in Cumbria in 1944, Jameson studied at Carlisle College of Art from 1960-64, and later won a travel scholarship to Florence, Italy. She followed this with further studies at Goldsmith's College of Art in London and the Central School of Art, and then working as a master printer in an etching studio. Jameson has become one of the leading champions of the mezzotint print, which often reflect her origins in the Cumbrian countryside -- with an emphasis on dramatic landscapes, moonscapes and sunsets.
