Lot 754

1857 C-1 R2 AU50. Sharpness near mint state but lightly cleaned and retoned glossy light golden olive and chocolate brown. The only marks are a light vertical nick in the hair over the R in LIBERTY and some tiny planchet chips over LIB and under EN in CENT. The strike on the coronet above LIB is a bit soft. Rather early die state. The obverse fields display traces of reflectivity and the reverse fields are covered with fine die polishing lines down to the right, strongest at OF.
Estimated Value $125-UP.
The William Pannier Estate.
