1844/81 N-2 R2 Overdate 1844 over Inverted 1844 (44 over 81) VF35. Glossy light brown. Smooth and attractive. The only marks are a light nick on the throat and a couple more on the chin and cheek. The reverse is choice. E-MDS, die state a. The coronet tip and many of the stars are softly struck, as usual, but the blundered date is sharp with undertype clearly visible on all 4 digits. The dull points to the left from the O in ONE and E in CENT are weak but visible. DWH #0933.
