1795 C-6b R6 Thick Planchet Fair-2. Clipped Planchet. Slightly glossy dark steel brown and chocolate. The surfaces show light to moderate roughness in the fields and protected areas while the devices are relatively smooth. No verdigris or contact marks. The date is extremely faint at best and most of the legends are gone, but there is ample design remaining to positively attribute this piece as the rare 6b variety. Struck on a thick planchet cut from a spoiled large cent. Weight 104.8 grains.
