Lot 486

British/American Colonial Brass Barrel Flintlock Pistol, circa 1780-1790. This pistol has a 9".56 calibre round brass barrel with the remnants of; "EXTRA SHARPE PROOF", and is stamped "NJ" (Possibly for New Jersey Surcharge). Has brass furniture. The lock is unmarked and a later replacement. The stock has a period repair just above the rear of the lock plate where a piece of wood was sliced in. The left side of the stock has a 3-1/2" crack, but has not split and is still solid. This is an extremely attractive Colonial flintlock pistol in good working order, and has nice eye appeal.
Estimated Value $1,200 - 2,000.
