Lot 460

1829 N-4 R4 VF20. Glossy chocolate and light olive brown. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas on the reverse. Smooth and very attractive, but the strike is soft on most of the stars, portions of the hair, and many of the leaves, which is normal for this variety. The color and surfaces are consistent with a higher grade, but the strike precludes assigning a higher grade. The only marks are several tiny pinpricks on the obverse, mostly in the field between star 2 and the chin. M-LDS with a clear die crack through the R in AMERICA and a rim cud left of star 5.
Estimated Value $750-UP.

Realized $1,553
