Persia, Achaemenid Empire. Xerxes II to Artaxerxes II, ca. 420-375 BC. Gold Daric (8.30g) probably minted at Sardes. Persian king/hero in a kneeling/running stance right, holding a spear with a knob at the end and a bow, quiver over his shoulder. Reverse: Incuse punch. Carradice type IIib, BMC 15. Struck from dies in early stage of deterioration. Choice Very Fine.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,000.
