1871 Octagonal Liberty Head Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-62. The standard Robert B. Gray design with a large "G" below the neck truncation. Golden yellow with offsetting brownish gold high points (these were minted on low-carat gold, often a center of base metal gold-washed, hence the variance in toning seen on many of the later-date pieces (PCGS # 10592) .
