Lot 418

1854 N-20 R3 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown. Lustrous bright mint red fading to steel brown on the devices with 75-80% of the original mint color remaining. A very impressive cent, but far from perfect as there are numerous tiny spots of fine carbon on both sides. In addition there are swipes of shallow carbon on the rim from under the 18 clockwise to the rim at star 2. The only signs of contact are a couple tiny nicks in the hair just right of the ear. MDS, die state b. The top of the stray 1 under the right side of the 8 is clear. Our grade is net MS60+, tied for CC#6 in the Grellman census. Estimated Value $500-UP
