Transylvania. Ducat, 1606. Fr-316; Resch-33; KM-30. 3.28 Grams. 22.9 mm. Klausenburg mint. Stephan Bocskai, 1604-1606. Portrait in inner circle with fur hat and C - V at sides. Leg: STE:BOCH:D:G:HVNG:TRAN:PRI. Reverse: Arms, lion and serpent in inner circle. Leg: .ET.SICVLORVM - COMES.1606. NGC graded MS-62.

Stephen Bocksai was elected by the Diet in 1606, and with the liberties granted the principality, the Golden Age of Transylvania was ushered in. All coins of this ruler are rare, since he only ruled until 1608.
