Great Britain. Coronation Medal, 1685. Med Ill. I,605/5; Eimer-273. Silver. 35 mm. James II, 1685-1688. Obverse: Laureate draped bust of king. Reverse: Crown held by a hand appearing from heaven. Superbly well struck, and superior to other specimens which have been offered for sale in recent times. This was the official issue for the coronation, engraved by J. Roettier, and one of the toughest British coronation medals to obtain in top grade. NGC graded MS-62.
