Lot 362

1856 N-3 R1 Italic 5 AU50+. Frosty medium chocolate brown and steel. Would rate a slightly higher grade but there is a faint trace of microscopic carbon near the dentils at stars 3 & 4. Otherwise this cent is choice. Scarce LDS, die state g, with a bold rim cud break at stars 12-13. Tied for CC#6 of those known with the rim cud.
Estimated Value $150-UP.
Ex Superior 5/27/1996:428-R. S. Brown, Jr. 12/1999-Doug Bird-Rod Burress 11/5/2010-John Koebert (lot ticket included).
