Egypt, Ptolemaic Kings. Ptolemy I, as Satrap. 323-305 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.59 g), struck c. 310 BC. Obverse by the Delta Master. Head of Alexander right, wearing elephant's skin headdress; small Δ before elephant's ear. Reverse: Athena Alkidemos walking right, with spear and shield, eagle at feet; ΠA, AI, ΔoΦmonograms in field. Svoronos no. 146, pl 5a, 7; SNG Copenhagen 18. Well centered, problem free strike on excellent metal. Nice deep old collection toning. Choice Very Fine.
