Lot 343

1830 N-9 R6- G5. Slightly sharper but cleaned and retoned glossy dark steel and olive brown. There are areas of shallow roughness on both sides, mostly in the obverse fields and around STATES, but most of the planchet is smooth. No verdigris or notable signs of contact. The date is clear and the legends are complete, although the tops of RIC are starting to fade into the rim. A decent example of one of the rarest die varieties known to Newcomb. Estimated Value $2,500-UP

Ex Toledo Coin Exchange-Chris McCawley 7/30/2004.

Realized $2,415
