Valens, AD 364-378. Gold Solidus (4.35g) minted at Milan, AD 364-367. Diademed bust left of Valens in imperial mantle, holding mappa and short scepter. Reverse: Valens and Valentinian I, both nimbate and in imperial mantle, enthroned facing, each holding mappa and scepter. RIC 3b; Cohen 89. Very Rare. A few minor edge marks and signs of cleaning on the face. About Extremely Fine/Extremely Fine.
