Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. Ptolemy I, 323-285 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.69 g) minted at Alexandria as Satrap, c. 310-305 BC. Diademed head right of Alexander the Great wearing elephant skin. Reverse: Athena striding right, holding raised spear and shield; in right field, eagle standing right on thunderbolt; in left field, monogram and bee. Svoronos 153 (cf. plate V, 21). Nicely toned and of good metal. About Extremely Fine.
