Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 48

Lot 305

1794 S-22 R1. VF-35. Sharpness AU50 but the planchet is covered with uniform faint granularity that is mostly offset by the attractive frosty light olive and steel toning. No verdigris. The only marks are a few light nicks on the neck and cheek, and these are mostly lost in the toning and do not catch the eye at all. Nicely struck M-LDS, Breen state VII late. The "Mounds" on the reverse are strong and the designs are perfectly centered on the planchet. Not perfect but still quite nice.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500.

Realized $2,875
