India - Kushan. Vasudeva II, 270-310 AD. Gold Dinar. Vasu Deva standing left, sacrificing over lit altar, holding trident. Reverse: Shiva standing facing with trident, Nandi bull behind. Nicely struck; perfectly centered. The obverse die just starting to show a touch of wear. Residual luster in the fields. Likely Vasu Deva I (124-200 AD.), instead. Cf. especially, Göbl, Kushan 509. Note the style of the obverse device, and particularly the lettering. Also Shiva not nimbate. ICG graded AU-50.
