Lot 285

1794 S-43 R2 G6. Slightly sharper, especially on the obverse, but areas of the reverse are heavily worn due to the late die state. No corrosion or verdigris. The notable marks are a strong, dull horizontal nick under the ear lobe, a rim bruise before the eye, and another just left of the date. The date is strong and the legends are clear except for those parts affected by the die failure on the reverse. LDS with a dull diagonal wave across the reverse from the U in UNITED to OF. Not all of the cracks described by Breen state V are visible due to the amount of wear, and a good argument could be made for Breen state IV. Estimate Value $300 - UP
Ex W. E. Johnson-R. S. Brown, Jr., Superior 9/30/1986:58-unknown-Chris McCawley 6/1998-Chuck Heck Collection.
