Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 AD. Year 3 (undated). AR Zuz (3.0 g.), struck 134/135 AD. . Hen-716. Of more than usual interest for having a portrait of Jerusalem's previous conqueror still visible on the obverse. Wreath, two line Hebrew inscription within (Shim'on). Reverse: Two upright trumpets; Hebrew around. Hendin 716; Mild. 123. Trivial deposits on obverse. Some horn silver on reverse which should be removed to further improve this piece. Lightly toned, with portrait and partial inscription of Vespasian discernible on obverse. A sharp Very Fine.
