Lot 265

1800 S-201 R4+ F12. Sharpness VF30 but the obverse is covered with fine porosity and the reverse is covered with lighter microscopic roughness. No verdigris, and the only mark is a dull scratch arcing in the field near the dentils before the mouth. Slightly glossy dark olive and steel with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state II. The swelling on the reverse is just starting to show but the horizontal die crack from the curl at the shoulder is strong. The date and legends are strong.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
