Lot 2505

1903 $10 Liberty. NGC graded Proof 65. NGC holder 2018839-001. A brilliant Proof with a hint of golden toning. Only 96 Proofs struck. This is a lightly toned Gem whose surfaces are saturated in pale orange-gold shades. We have no criticism about the strike, all features show exact detail that could only result from careful Proof production methods. Brilliant in finish, then, both sides achieve deep mirrored reflectivity that appears to gleam and sparkle at indirect light angles. Perhaps no more than half of the original mintage are believed extant. Pop 8; 6 finer; 5 in 66; 1 in 67. (PCGS # 8843) .
Estimated Value $30,000 - 33,000.
