Syria, Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos I, 280-261 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.26 g) minted at Seleucia on the Tigris. Diademed head right of Antiochos I. Reverse: Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow. Houghton and Lorber I, 379.6C; Houghton (ANS ACNAC 4) 955 (as Antiochos II); Newell (ESM) 178. A little porous, mainly on reverse. Wonderful portrait. Very Fine.
