1847 N-34 R5+ F12+. Slightly sharper with a rim bruise at the second A in AMERICA. Bluish steel brown and chocolate. There is some minor roughness on the rim at the top of the obverse, but otherwise this cent is nice for the grade. Extremely rare EDS, die state a, before the dies were heavily lapped. A die state unknown to Newcomb and one of only 10 presently confirmed. This is the discovery coin for the die state. DWH #1288.
