Byzantine Empire. John V and Anna of Savoy, 1341-1347. Silver Basilikon (1.81g), Constantinople. 1342-5. Similar, but on rev. Anna and John hold long cross between them with X on shaft. Cf. DOC 1176-85; cf. PCPC 278; cf. LPC p. 132, 3; cf. Sear-Bendall 2504. Very Fine, of crude style and high weight, probably a contemporary imitation, very rare and interesting.
