1851 N-9 R3 PCGS graded AU58+, CAC Approved. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown and steel with a few tiny peeps of faded mint red showing on the obverse. Mint frost covers the fields and protected areas on both sides. The sharpness is close to mint state but there is a dark olive brown spot of fine roughness at ER in LIBERTY and a minor rim bruise right of star 13. MDS, die state b early. The fine vertical die polishing lines down from the edge of the main curl are faint. A variety that is difficult to find in top grades. Our grade is AU50, tied for CC#9 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 2 finer in 62 for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $200-UP
