Lot 24

1795 C-2b R6+. VG-10. Plain Edge with Punctuated Date and Thin Planchet. Glossy medium brown with a half dozen small swipes of darker chocolate toning on the obverse. There is a faint, thin scuff on the chin and a trace of extremely faint roughness hidden in the lowest curls, but overall this piece is quite attractive for the grade. The date and legends are bold except for some weakness on HALF. The reverse is rotated 15 degrees CW. Weight 78.6 grains. At the lower end of the condition census for this tough variety.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 7,000.
Ex 2001 EAC Sale, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 3/31/01:35.
