1847 N-28 R4+ VF25. Sharpness EF40 but the fields are covered with extremely fine roughness that’s barely visible with a strong glass. No verdigris, but there is a fine pinscratch from the dentils over star 6 down to star 3, plus a couple nicks on the chin and neck and some barely visible rim bruises on the right side of the obverse. Mostly glossy medium brown and chocolate. Extremely rare late die state, die state e, with a strong rim cud break over ATE. Finest of only 5 known with this rim cud. Removed from an NCS slab graded AU details environmental damage (NCS label included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). DWH #3234.
