Very Rare Dorothy Stratten Signed PLAYBOY Centerfold. Dorothy Stratten was a Canadian model and actress who came to the US and was chosen as a finalist of the 25th Anniversary Great Playmate Hunt. She was chosen to be Miss August 1979 at age 19 where Hugh Hefner had very high hopes for a meaningful crossover appeal as an actress. She guest starred on numerous televison shows and demonstrated a natural talent for comedy. In 1980 she became Playmate of the Year and starred in the sci-fi parody, GALAXINA. It was at this time Hefner and friends told her to separate from her manager/boyfriend, Paul Snider, due to increasingly erratic behavior and drug use. In an attempt to discuss an amicable divorce in August of 1980, Stratten was brutally murdered by Snider who later turned the weapon on himself. Stratten's story became the subject of a best sellers, a television drama and more notably, a searing powerful film by director Bob Fosse entitled STAR 80. Rare signature of Stratten in the August '79 issue boldly signed and inscribed across her printed name in black marker "To Gary, Love Dorothy Stratten XOXO.
