John Wayne Signed Vintage Original Publicity Still from Chisum. Clearly one of the most popular actors of the 20th Century, distinguishing himself in some of the greatest Westerns ever made. There will never be another John Wayne, but his films will live on especially his classics like STAGECOACH, THE SEARCHERS and TRUE GRIT to name three. Here, an autographed 8 x 10" publicity still for his 1970 Western entitled CHISUM, loosely based on the historic Lincoln County land war in New Mexico where legendary figures of the Old West participated including rancher John Chisum, Sheriff Pat Garrett, notorious outlaw Billy The Kid and crime boss Lawrence Murphy waged battle. Very nice signature of John Wayne in black felt tip pen with "Wayne" only slightly less bold as it extends into the horse. Very clean, photo near to mint. Estimated Value $400 - 600
