Lot 220

1803 S-265 R4 Large Date and Fraction F15. Sharpness VF20 or slightly better but there is a small patch of fine roughness in the field over the bust, a dull nick under the end of the hair ribbon, and minor roughness covering the fields on the upper half of the reverse. The minor roughness is mostly hidden under the glossy brown toning that varies from steel brown on the devices to dark chocolate brown in protected areas. MDS, Breen state IV, with a fine die crack from the bust tip to the dentils and stronger cracks at and below STATE. A decent example of this popular "Redbook" variety.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
Ex Chris McCawley 1/2012-William R Eckberg.
