Lot 216

1847 N-23 R5 MS63. Frosty light bluish steel brown with slightly faded mint color showing in the protected areas. The surfaces are satiny and quite attractive, the luster covering all but the very highest points of the design. The only marks, and they are barely visible, are a speck of darker toning just right of the base of star 6 and a small, dull nick on the tip of the chin. M-LDS, die state d late. The reverse die cracks are strong and the section between the cracks on the rim at AM is shifted inward. The rim cud over the second S in STATES has not formed. Tied for CC#1 honors with one other example in the Grellman census. And it comes with an outstanding provenance. DWH #3251.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
