Byzantine Empire. John II Comnenus, 1118-1143 AD. Electrum Aspron Trachy (4.36 g), Constantinople. Christ enthroned facing. Reverse: John and St. George facing, cross on three steps between. SBC 1942. Excellent crisp strike. Slight peripheral graffiti. The electrum pale, virtually silver, but with choice deep toning. Handsome. Choice Very Fine.
