Lot 199
1847 N-12 R3+ Repunched 8 MS60+. Glossy steel brown with underlying very faded mint color on both sides. Would rate a grade a couple point higher but there is a light nick and shinny scuff under the ribbon loop at the bottom of the wreath. Terminal die state, die state c, with a strong cud rim cud break from star 9 down nearly to star 10. The repunching inside the top of the 8 is sharp. A ring of very shallow low spots shows at the dentil tips around the obverse (caused by debris on the die). Tied for CC#3 of both the variety and die state. DWH #1256.
