Lot 1947

1923-S Buffalo Nickel. PCGS graded MS-64. Evenly toned on both sides. Better defined on the reverse than the obverse, right down to the shoulder hump of the bison, with lustrous surfaces. A unconvincing impression is often the case on branch mint Buffalo nickels of the 'twenties, as the mint tended to overwork the dies before replacing them. 1923-S is one of the scarcer dates in the series. Pop 338; 30 in 65; 2 in 66. (PCGS # 3950) .
Estimated Value $1,400 - 1,500.

Realized $1,495
