1883 Liberty Nickel. Without "CENTS". PCGS graded MS-66. Delicate golden toning on both sides. In 1883 the Mint restyled the nickel five-cent piece, using on the obverse a head of Liberty said to have been inspired by the goddess Diana, and similar to the motif used on certain pattern coinage since 1881. The reverse bore the denomination expressed simply as the Roman numeral V, within a wreath. Pop 330; 15 finer in 67 (PCGS # 3841) .
