1883 Liberty Nickel. Without "CENTS". PCGS graded Proof 65. Nice even toning. Charles E. Barber design; Barber took over as Chief Engraver upon the death of his father William Barber in 1879. The Liberty or "V" nickel is his baby. 5,419 Proofs struck. Pop 307; 93 finer; 89 in 66; 4 in 67. (PCGS # 3878) .
