Lot 1789

1902-S $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-64. Old green holder. Nice light original golden toning on both sides. As we stated about the 1901-S $20, the same goes for 1902-S (1.75 million mintage): few are around in choice condition, most that are offered tend to be bagmarked or have scuffs on the cheek. Just out of the starting gate this piece displays above-average vibrant luster and sharp details. It stands alone (well, almost alone) in its grade. That said, conversation and emotion have made the $20 Liberty series a tough nut to crack for the serious date collector, but nearly every expert will agree the '02-S offered here has an edge over most in its grade class. Pop 38; 1 in 65, 1 in 66, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 9042) .
Estimated Value $8,000 - 9,000.

Realized $7,763
