Lot 1766

1896-S $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-64. Light golden toning. Another prized, high-quality $20 gold piece. The San Francisco mint dates are noteworthy for their satiny (to sometimes prooflike) luster and fine detail. Fix your gaze once more on this and the other pieces in the group and you will see, as we did, that the consignor must have spent many years acquiring his collection. Pop 128; 1 in 67, none finer at PCGS. Nearly unobtainable in gem condition, as the census figure proves! (PCGS # 9030) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Realized $3,565
